Northern Ingredients is one of the only companies in the Twin Cities to have inventory for almost any bread and bun baking production need using a just-in-time inventory system. Over 50 million pounds of product goes through our warehouse on an annual basis. Our flour tankers move 50 million pounds of flour a year. Our services provide product to companies across the United States and Canada. We are the regional distributor for Morton Salt, Caravan Ingredients, ConAgra Flour, and Columbus Foods. Every McDonald’s hamburger bun in the 5 state region and 4 Canadian provinces contains our products.
Northern Ingredients began in 1991 as Northern Investments. Founded by Bob Schafer with a rental warehouse in St. Anthony, a van, and a home office, Northern Ingredients has now grown into a company of 15 employees, 6 trucks, 6 flour tankers, and a 100,000 square foot warehouse in Arden Hills, MN.
